With the recent changes to organic search on Facebook, businesses are flocking towards paid advertising and for good reason – it works!
Recently Facebook announced that their ads on the right hand side will get a new look. We know for our clients, that the click through rate on the right hand side is usually much, much lower than when a sponsored story appears in someone time line.
The update is designed to make those right-hand column ads “more visually consistent” with ads displayed in the News Feed. In addition to being fewer and larger in size, the ads will use the same proportions as desktop News Feed ads. “For advertisers, this offers a simpler way to create ads and an enhanced creative canvas on the right-hand column of Facebook,” said a Facebook for Business blog post.This change is in line with Facebook’s mission of creating simpler, more streamlined ad products. Since the updated ads are similar to the size and shape of desktop News Feed ads, business owners can use the same image for both the News Feed and in the right-hand column.
